Butcher paper is a strong kraft paper that is commonly used to package meat. Butcher paper is created from kraft pulp that has been processed with sodium carbonate, sulphide, and sizing chemicals to keep it from bleeding. Butcher paper is humidity-resistant  and allowed for direct contact with food by Australian regulators.
